You're Right!
Burt Reynolds turned to a career in acting only after a serious automobile accident shattered his dreams of professional football fame. He got to New York on a Greyhound bus and started his acting career as a stuntman. "One day they said, 'Do you know a guy we can set on fire and throw out the window?' I said, 'How much?' They said, '$400.' I said, 'Okay.' Starting as a stuntman, he landed a part in the television series, Gunsmoke.
He has gone on to appear in over fifty films including, "Deliverance", "The Longest Yard", and "Best Friends." His recent films include: "Striptease" and "Boogie Nights." His defining role was in "Smokey and the Bandit," with on again-off again love Sally Field.
