You're Right!
A native of Santa Monica, he was born at the tail end of the Great
Depression to a milkman father and a homemaker mother. Dad took work as an
accountant with Standard Oil following World War II, and the family
relocated to nearby Van Nuys, where the he expressed an early bent towards
non-conformity by stealing hubcaps and furtively scaling tall buildings
downtown. He became perhaps the most swooned over sex symbol of his
generation.
