You're Right!
Possibly the ugliest, most unstable and heaviest pushbike ever was this absolute icon of the 70's.
In 1972 Raleigh released its 'Chopper' with odd sized wheels, good old British-designed
Sturmey Archer 3-speed stick shift and a saddle to die for. If you couldn't get five
on a Chopper you simply weren't trying. A classic of bad design! The most uncomfortable, hard to ride bike ever built.
A fatal combination of mismatched wheels and sturmey archer gears!
Remember 'slip' between 2nd and 3rd?
Remember the fights about which was best, Chopper or Grifter?
Remember 'backies' on the bag rack! Oh yes.....the Chopper!
